Communications

During the season, information is distributed via email including any last minute information. The information will be sent to the email address(es) provided on the registration form. For current updated information, schedules, photos, statistics, team records, etc., visit the Sully Station Swim Team website at www.gosully.com. Also "like" us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gosully and follow us on Twitter @SullySSTs. The NVSL also maintains a website at www.mynvsl.com that has information about the league including current and historical NVSL meet results and times.

In addition, the swim team maintains a file box containing a folder for each swimmer. It is kept behind the guard desk at the pool and is accessible at any time. Important documents and swimmer award ribbons are distributed in this folder. Please check it frequently. Another way information is communicated to the team is by posting it on the bulletin board located at the entrance to the pool. Remember to check the bulletin board every day for information about meets, volunteer needs, schedule changes, social events, etc. The results from NVSL Dual meets are also posted here.

Parents are encouraged to communicate directly with the coaches, but not during practices or meets. Coaches are happy to discuss your child's progress or any concerns you may have. They are available after the last morning practice. Although we do allow parents to sit and observe the swim practices from a distance, for safety reasons we request you do not talk to or interrupt coaches or swimmers during practice times.

Family Support

Each swimmer is vital to the team's success. To help our team, we ask families to please plan vacations as well as swimmers’ work and camp schedules with the swim team in mind. The absence of even one swimmer may make the difference between a win and a loss in a scored meet.

VOLUNTEERING FOR MEETS AND ACTIVITITES

A swim team requires tremendous dedication from the swimmers and their parents. It takes hundreds of volunteer hours to make swim team possible and we need each family to do their share. Volunteering for swim team is a very social, fun, and fulfilling experience and there are lots of different kinds of jobs. We appreciate you!

In order to simplify things and be as transparent as possible, each family is asked to volunteer for a minimum of 20 points. This is only 4 points per week per family! Each job comes with a certain number of points and is clearly marked in each event. There are plenty of key volunteers who are happy to show you the ropes and explain what needs to be done.

To complete the swimmer registration process, each family must sign up for at least 5 volunteer points. By the second A meet, each family must sign up for their remaining hours. If you foresee any challenges in volunteering, please send the Volunteer Coordinator an email so we can work out alternative arrangements.

If you only have a Mini-Star swimmer(no older swimmers), please sign up for a minimum of 5 points. It may be best to sign up for events towards the middle or end of the swim season to get a feel for what is needed and what may interest you.
